Katarina

Katarina began her formal studies in alternative health practice in 1995 and received her education in Massage Therapy at Axelsons Institute in Stockholm, Sweden, which is the oldest and largest institute of learning for alternative medicine, massage therapy and wellness in Northern Europe. Studying in Sweden resonated with Katarina, as it was a return to her roots in Europe, and to the tradition of alternative health practice that is in her family. As she considered her options, it was the natural and heart felt choice to return to Europe to study traditional Swedish Massage Therapy in it’s original, untainted form where it originated from.

After completing her education as a Massage Therapist, she also went on to become a Revolving Therapist, studying advanced techniques personally under master practitioner and Naprapath Richard Torn. Revolving Therapy specializes in advanced, effective myofascial techniques, particularly effective to help with neck, rotator cuff, shins, forearm, back issues, and for deeper muscle tension. Revolving Therapy was originally called “Deep Tissue Swedish Massage” and made famous for its effective methods.

In 2015 she completed a two year apprenticeship in Advanced Applied Kinesiology including diagnostics, internal organs, structural integrity and alignment under the tutelage of Candace Brown.

In her spare time, among other things, Katarina loves diving into nutritional study and cellular biology. Her passion for health and wellness also encompasses nutritional health and healing and she has been a guest speaker at health seminars, has written for health blogs, websites, has worked internationally in the areas of nutrition and body work, and loves to share her healthy raw food recipes. She believes that health is multifaceted and includes examination, treatment and care to the whole person; spirit, soul and body.

She hopes that you will feel welcome at the clinic and looks forward to an opportunity to meet with you to discuss options for helping you reach your health and wellness goals.

Advanced Applied Kinesiology

Advanced Applied Kinesiology (AAK) is a technique in alternative medicine. It is the study of the function of the human body that assesses movement and structure including ligaments, tendons, muscles and bones and offers treatment to the root cause of a given issue within the body. Treatments also include instructions of proper aftercare to help clients achieve optimum results. AAK seeks to identify and treat the root cause of symptoms/discomfort with the goal of achieving homeostasis in the body.

Swedish Massage Therapy

Swedish massage therapy is the modality that comes to mind when most people think about massage. As the best-known type of bodywork performed today, one of the primary goals of the Swedish massage technique is to relax the entire body. This is accomplished by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. But Swedish massage therapy goes beyond relaxation. Swedish massage is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.

Light Therapy

Many health-care professionals are investigating the use of laser therapy on their patients, as they recognize its untapped potential in the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. It has been more than 30 years since the initial reports on this form of therapy appeared, and, over time, studies have suggested its biological effects on injured tissue. With increasing research, as well as clinical utilization of laser therapy, chiropractors and students alike are curious about the efficacy of this treatment modality.

Testimonials

  • Katarina honestly amazes me!!! I started seeing her just after starting a four month bodybuilding competition prep. Every single week I would bring her a tight, stiff and overworked body- she'd look at me, my stance and know exactly where I needed attention!!! Katarina lights up the room with her positive energy, great sense of humor, gentle soul and magic hands!!! Thank you Katarina for always going the extra mile and keeping my body intact!

  • Hi Katarina. Thank you for being such an amazing intuitive healer. Your deep tissue massages, although uncomfortable at times, is the only treatment that has improved my overall muscle health and flexibility. You were instrumental in the healing of my torn hamstring through massage and light therapy by increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation. I always look forward to our chats and laughs. Xoxo. Love you.

  • Ten years ago I was in a serious accident and ever since then I have had complications with my neck, shoulders, pelvis and different joints. I've been to various doctors and chiropractors over the years, which only provided short term relief. My wife made an appointment with Katarina (which I was sceptical about at first!) but after only four visits my body has healed and I am amazingly pain free! -Art Arends

  • I will start by saying "AMAZING!"  After more than a year of seeing an RMT, I was still having pain.  A friend who highly recommended Katarina to me said give it a try and boy am I glad I did.  Amazing results in only 5 sessions!  I cannot say enough about her, she is wonderful, professional and knowledgeable and I will continue with my Swedish massages for my own relaxation. -Karen Human

  • After an accident I had sciatic nerve pain for 13 years.   Later on a trip to the United States I was unable to walk the distance in the airport and ended up having to sit in a wheelchair to get from one end of the airport to the other, with the most severe sciatic nerve pain possible.

I went to Doctors and Chiropractors, was doing yoga and stretching to try to help the pain, but nobody and nothing could help me.
I heard about your clinic, and that's when I discovered that my pelvis was out and causing the problems.  It took a few treatments and that's when the turn around in my life began.  You put my pelvis into alignment and everything changed!
    Thank you,
